De Sarphati BSO
With a view of the coolest neighbors you can imagine, the animals of Artis, is located in the monumental former Oranje-Nassau Kazerne De Sarphati: a spacious, surprising afterschool care (BSO) facility. In addition to the cozy kitchen where children and parents can have a drink, there is much more to experience at the BSO.
In the sports area the children can play football, boxing and exercise and in the chill corner just relax or withdraw to read a book or do homework, for example.
Learning to glue a tire, making a wooden puzzle, building birdhouses, painting, modeling: just think of it and the BSO employees will undertake it with the children. The craft and carpentry yard is the place where children can hammer into the walls and mess paint on the floor. The paint aprons are ready: really nothing is too crazy here!

Discovering Amsterdam every day is central at De Sarphati; children at this after school care, together with their peers, discover Amsterdam in their own way. How? Throughout the year we work with themes and activities are linked to them, in collaboration with the children. Activities outside the location, where we go out with the electric bike and activities that take place at the location. Children can indicate themselves which activity they are going to participate in. Naturally, the activities are taken into account, they are suitable for various age categories (between 4 – 12 years).
